Uber Reportedly Launches Teen Safety Livestream Feature Using Driver's Selfie Camera

Uber Technologies (UBER) is launching a new safety feature that allows linked parents and guardians to view a live video stream of their teenager's ride, multiple media outlets reported Tuesday.

The feature uses the selfie camera on the driver's phone, allowing a teen's linked parent or guardian to view a livestream of the ride, according to the reports.

The live video feature, which is slated to roll out across the US in the coming weeks, is being piloted in Atlanta; Phoenix; Orlando, Florida; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Atlanta, Phoenix, Orlando, San Antonio, Cleveland; El Paso, Texas; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Portland, Oregon; and the state of Rhode Island, the reports said.

Uber did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
