Honda Motor (HMC) is weighing the possibility of building a new facility in the US as it plans to introduce 15 new gas-electric hybrid models by March 2030, primarily targeting the North American market, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing a senior company executive.
The company requires additional manufacturing capacity to meet customer needs, the report said, quoting Noriya Kaihara, Honda executive vice president, who reportedly added that "the next production facility should be within North America."
Honda did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
