Heico recorded higher third-quarter revenue, driven by an uptick in demand in both of its segments as well as a boost from recent acquisitions.

The airplane-part and electronics supplier on Tuesday posted a third-quarter profit of $235.4 million, or $1.67 a share, compared with $177.3 million, or $1.26 a share, a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet expected earnings of $1.51 a share.

Revenue gained 23% to $1.41 billion, compared with analyst estimates of $1.35 billion.

The company said sales in its flight support group rose 18% to $947.8 million, helped by increased demand across all product lines. Sales at its electronic technologies group increased 36% to $483.5 million on higher demand for the company's other electronics, defense and aerospace products.

Sales in both groups were also boosted by recent acquisitions, the company said.
