DaVita (DVA) said Tuesday it formed a partnership with Humana (HUM) to treat Medicare Advantage members with chronic kidney disease stages 3B to 5.
The program began in July and expands an existing relationship between the two businesses to address the illness at earlier stages, the company said.
DaVita said the initiative focuses on earlier intervention to help slow kidney-function decline and reduce avoidable hospitalizations.
The project will provide medical support to more than 10,000 individuals, and aims to slow the decline of kidney function and help patients plan for future medical procedures such as home dialysis and organ transplants, DaVita said.
