STANCHART completes GBP 8.23 million share buyback; cumulative repurchases reach 29.57 million shares

Standard Chartered PLC (abbreviation: STANCHART) disclosed that on 24 August 2026 it repurchased 377,391 ordinary shares on overseas venues—London Stock Exchange, Cboe BXE and Cboe CXE—at prices ranging between GBP 21.53 and GBP 21.95 per share. The transaction cost totalled GBP 8.23 million.

All 377,391 shares are designated for cancellation. Including earlier purchases of 374,775 shares on 20 August and 377,990 shares on 21 August that are also awaiting cancellation, the number of shares pending cancellation stands at 1.13 million, equivalent to 0.05% of the current issued share base.

The company’s issued share capital remained unchanged at 2,185,522,620 ordinary shares as of 24 August 2026, prior to the cancellation of the repurchased stock.

Since shareholders approved the buyback mandate on 7 May 2026, STANCHART has repurchased 29.57 million shares on the London Stock Exchange and the two Cboe platforms, representing 1.33% of the shares outstanding at the time of the resolution. All shares acquired under this authority are intended to be cancelled.
