Pharmaceutical company FUSEN PHARM (01652) has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Henan FUSEN Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., has received approval from China's National Medical Products Administration for the market launch of its "Doxazosin Mesylate Sustained-Release Tablets" (brand name: Yijianping).

The approved indications are for the symptomatic treatment of hypertension and benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Doxazosin Mesylate Sustained-Release Tablets are recognized as a first-line medication for treating mild to moderate hypertension and are also a first-line treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia with lower urinary tract symptoms.

The product offers advantages such as rapid onset of action, long-lasting effect, more stable release, significant efficacy, convenient administration, and it is not affected by age or mild to moderate renal impairment.

Doxazosin Mesylate is a selective alpha-1 receptor antagonist. In humans, it counteracts phenylephrine-induced prostate contraction, reduces peripheral vascular resistance to lower blood pressure, and decreases urethral resistance, thereby alleviating symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia and improving urinary flow.
