GRCB Releases 2025 ESG Report; Green Loans Reach RMB 72.58 Billion and Inclusive Finance Up 20.26%

Guangzhou Rural Commercial Bank Co., Ltd. (GRCB) published its 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility (ESG) Report, detailing progress in environmental, social and governance initiatives for the year ended 31 December 2025.

Environmental Highlights • Green loan balance rose to RMB 72.58 billion, up RMB 11.94 billion year-on-year, covering energy conservation, clean energy and ecological projects. • Transition-finance loans were extended to five industries, with an outstanding balance of RMB 680 million. • Total greenhouse-gas emissions from head-office operations were 11,256.78 tCO₂e, while office electricity intensity stood at 212.81 kWh per square metre. • Five “zero-carbon branches” are now in operation after the retirement of 925 tonnes of certified voluntary emission reductions.

Social Performance • Inclusive loans to small and micro enterprises reached RMB 62.14 billion, a 20.26% increase from the beginning of the year. • Technology-finance loans climbed 7.5% to RMB 73.40 billion, serving 5,075 tech-enterprise customers. • Agriculture-related lending totalled RMB 42.15 billion, supporting rural revitalisation projects valued at RMB 29.20 billion. • Employee headcount stood at 8,806; training averaged 103.90 hours per person. No work-related fatalities were reported.

Governance and Risk • The Board conducted 14 meetings during the year, deliberating 102 proposals and hearing 39 briefings; ESG oversight is delegated to the Strategy and Investment Committee. • Comprehensive risk controls kept market, liquidity and IT risks “stable and controllable,” while proactive stress testing covered power, non-ferrous, chemical and building-materials sectors. • Anti-money-laundering efforts included 177 training sessions covering 69,759 person-times, and the bank reported no major AML incidents.

Community and Stakeholders • The Jinmi Public Welfare Foundation invested RMB 58 million in charity projects, training 280 rural talents and assisting 620 disadvantaged residents. • A total of 150 “heart-warming stations” were established, delivering 647 community-service activities to almost 19,000 beneficiaries.

Future Outlook • In the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, GRCB will advance its “Four Major Finance” service system, deepen rural finance and small-asset business, and further expand its green-finance portfolio while strengthening digital risk control and governance standards.
