On August 26, the State Council Information Office held a press conference regarding the full implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan and the acceleration of a new type of industrialization. Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated in response to a reporter's question that China's artificial intelligence industry has shown vibrant growth and remarkable achievements in recent years, injecting strong "intelligent momentum" into economic expansion.

From a foundational perspective, China's computing power infrastructure has been continuously strengthened. As of the end of June, the scale of intelligent computing power reached 2185 EFLOPS, with over 70 high-speed computing channels established around major computing hubs. Domestic open-source models have achieved innovative breakthroughs and offer high cost-effectiveness, making them the preferred choice for a growing number of global users.

In terms of applications, artificial intelligence has become deeply integrated across the entire industrial chain, spanning research and development, design, manufacturing, quality inspection, and maintenance, driving a transformative upgrade toward smart manufacturing. Through real-world training scenarios, robots have been deployed in production lines, emergency rescue operations, and food service settings, among others. The 2026 World Robot Conference, which concluded over the weekend, vividly showcased numerous application use cases. Additionally, the World Humanoid Robot Sports Games, which opened on the 22nd, saw tickets sell out quickly, drawing an unprecedented level of public enthusiasm.

Regarding governance, nearly 200 key artificial intelligence standards have been successfully developed. China is currently organizing multiple cities to conduct pilot projects on AI ethics review and service implementation. The recently released International Action Plan for AI Ethics Governance has also received a positive response from many countries.
