Jiangxi Copper Company Limited announced that its Board has approved a total asset-impairment provision of RMB2.90 billion for the six months ended 30 June 2026, following a comprehensive impairment test conducted under PRC Accounting Standards for Business Enterprises.

The bulk of the charge—RMB2.49 billion—stems from writing inventories down to net realisable value, including RMB624.14 million related to subsidiary Shandong Humon Smelting. Additional provisions cover fixed assets (RMB272.31 million), construction in progress (RMB88.00 million), exploration costs (RMB21.84 million) and investment properties (RMB4.62 million). Credit-related impairments contributed a further RMB23.50 million after netting reversals.

Management estimates that the combined impairments will reduce net profit attributable to the parent by approximately RMB1.62 billion for the January-June 2026 period.

Both the Audit Committee and the full Board confirmed that the provisions align with applicable accounting standards, accurately reflect asset values and underwent proper approval procedures.
