On August 24, financial frontline news reported that Postal Savings Bank Of China Co., Ltd. (referred to as "the Bank") announced the completion of the redemption of its Tier-2 capital bonds. In August 2021, the Bank issued Tier-2 capital bonds totaling RMB 60 billion in the national interbank bond market, and on August 23, 2021, it published the announcement regarding the completion of the issuance of the 2021 Tier-2 Capital Bonds (First Tranche).
The bonds comprised two tranches, with Tranche 1 being a 10-year fixed-rate bond that includes a conditional issuer redemption right at the end of the fifth year. The issuance scale for this tranche was RMB 50 billion (referred to as "the Bonds").
According to the terms specified in the prospectus for the Bonds, the Bank holds the right to redeem the Bonds at the end of the fifth year, specifically on August 23, 2026. Recently, the Bank obtained a no-objection letter from the National Financial Regulatory Administration regarding the redemption of the Bonds.
As of the date of this announcement, the Bank has exercised its redemption right and fully redeemed the Bonds.
