Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited (ICBC) announced it will exercise its first call option to redeem the entire USD 6.16 billion Undated Additional Tier 1 Capital Bonds on 24 September 2026, five years after issuance.

The bonds were originally issued on 24 September 2021 and carry the contractual provision allowing redemption on any distribution payment date after the fifth anniversary. ICBC has obtained the required written approval from the National Financial Regulatory Administration, satisfying all redemption conditions stipulated in the bond documentation.

Redemption will be executed at par value together with any accrued but unpaid interest up to, but excluding, the first call date. Following settlement, no bonds will remain outstanding and ICBC plans to apply to The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited for the withdrawal of the bond listing.

The board of directors confirmed the resolution on 25 August 2026, underscoring ICBC’s proactive capital management strategy within the parameters set by regulatory authorities and bond terms.
