联合必和必拓（ASX: BHP）港口工会周二宣布，西澳大利亚州黑德兰港运营基地的工人们此前已否决公司提出的薪资方案，工会现正式提交反提案，为定于9月8日举行的下一轮劳资谈判铺平道路。
必和必拓发言人在电邮声明中表示：“我们正朝着达成协议的方向持续取得进展，该协议将着力回应员工所关注的关键问题。”工会方面指出，工人们在会前否决的必和必拓原提案“本将加剧员工之间本已存在的不平等现象”，并补充称，已计划于9月15日与澳大利亚公平工作委员会举行会谈。
据了解，围绕新的薪酬协议，必和必拓数月来一直与代表约450名操作工及维修工人的工会进行谈判。目前，必和必拓在黑德兰港雇佣员工超过800人。
工会表示，工人们要求获得具有约束力的薪资及工作条件保障。工人们认为，考虑到极端高温、长时间工作以及长期远离家人等现实困难，他们的薪酬待遇不应低于城市工人。
