Market Open: Domestic Futures Show Broad Gains as Ethylene Glycol and Asphalt Climb Nearly 3%

At the opening of trading on August 25, 2026, domestic futures contracts saw more gains than losses among major products, with Ethylene Glycol (EG) and asphalt both advancing by nearly 3%.

Other notable gainers included staple fiber, paraxylene (PX), and fuel oil, which each rose close to 2%, while rubber (No. 20), bottle flakes, propylene, Shanghai gold, platinum, PTA, butadiene rubber, coke, and methanol all traded up by more than 1%.

On the downside, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and eggs fell by over 2%, while apples, SC crude oil, rapeseed oil, and soybeans (No. 2) dropped more than 1%. Palm oil and paper pulp also declined, nearing the 1% mark.
