On August 25, Beijing's Rail Transit Line 22, stretching from Hongmiao to Pinggu, officially commenced no-passenger test operations, setting the stage for its initial full opening by the end of this year.

This marks the first rail transit route connecting Beijing and Hebei Province, with the Hongmiao-Pinggu section spanning approximately 79.1 kilometers. The line traverses Beijing's Chaoyang and Tongzhou districts, as well as Sanhe in Hebei and Pinggu in Beijing, featuring 20 stations and offering convenient transfers with multiple existing metro lines.

Once operational, travel from Yanjiao Town in Hebei to the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center will take just 9 minutes at best, while a trip to Hongmiao Station, located in the core area of the Chaoyang CBD, is expected to take approximately 28 minutes.
