Bank of Chongqing (BCQ) reported a 10.97% year-on-year increase in net profit to RMB 3.77 billion for the six months ended 30 June 2026, driven by a 26.04% surge in net interest income to RMB 7.39 billion.
Operating income rose 12.06% to RMB 8.43 billion. Net interest margin widened to 1.46% from 1.39%, while net interest spread improved five basis points to 1.40%. Net non-interest income fell 37.16% to RMB 1.05 billion, reflecting a 94.14% drop in investment gains.
Total assets expanded 7.27% to RMB 1.11 trillion. Gross loans advanced 9.63% to RMB 582.46 billion, led by a 12.91% rise in corporate lending to RMB 462.80 billion. Customer deposits grew 10.87% to RMB 627.20 billion, with individual time deposits up 15.32% to RMB 323.31 billion.
Asset quality strengthened: the non-performing loan ratio edged down three basis points to 1.11%, and the allowance coverage ratio improved to 247.31%.
Capital remained solid, with a capital adequacy ratio of 12.38%, tier 1 ratio of 9.57% and core tier 1 ratio of 8.56%. Liquidity ratio stood at 182.94%.
Growth initiatives included expanding green finance to more than RMB 100 billion, increasing inclusive small-and-micro enterprise loans to over RMB 77 billion, and lifting agriculture-related loan balances above RMB 57 billion.
During the period, BCQ converted RMB 1.44 billion of its A-share convertible bonds into 151.19 million new A shares, raising total share capital to 3.63 billion shares.
For 2025, shareholders approved a cash dividend of RMB 0.2797 per share, totalling RMB 1.01 billion, distributed in July and August 2026. The board has not proposed an interim dividend for 2026.
