Everest Medicines Limited (Everest Medicines) has entered into a commercialization collaboration with Hainan Herui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Hainan Herui), granting Everest Medicines responsibility for launching and commercializing Hainan Herui’s budesonide enteric capsules in Mainland China.

The budesonide enteric capsules received approval from China’s National Medical Products Administration in December 2025. Under the collaboration, Everest Medicines will oversee commercialization activities while providing technical guidance and conducting quality audits across Hainan Herui’s manufacturing and supply processes.

Management expects the agreement to broaden patient access to both NEFECON—Everest Medicines’ oral delayed-release budesonide product licensed from Calliditas Therapeutics—and Hainan Herui’s approved budesonide capsules, creating a complementary franchise in the Chinese market. The collaboration remains subject to customary closing conditions.

Everest Medicines holds exclusive development and commercialization rights for NEFECON in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore and, since March 2022, South Korea.
