ZYBANK’s 2025 ESG Report: Assets Surpass RMB 1.40 Trillion, Green Loans Reach RMB 51.46 Billion

Zhongyuan Bank (ZYBANK) has published its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance Report, detailing expanded green financing, stronger governance architecture and continued support for Henan’s real economy.

• Scale and Network – Total assets exceeded RMB 1.40 trillion at end-2025. – The provincial commercial bank operates 18 branches, almost 700 outlets, one consumer-finance firm, two leasing companies and 13 rural banks, employing more than 20,000 people.

• ESG Governance – The Board remains the highest decision-making body, with a Strategic Development Committee supervising ESG policy and progress. – Four board meetings, six shareholder meetings and eight supervisor meetings were held during the year, with four dedicated ESG training sessions for directors and supervisors.

• Green & Inclusive Finance – Green loan book rose to RMB 51.46 billion, up 23.2% year on year. – Inclusive loans to small and micro enterprises climbed to RMB 96.16 billion, a 6.7% annual increase. – Inclusive agriculture loans advanced to RMB 21.87 billion. – The bank rolled out a seven-product “Yuan Yin” green finance suite and launched Henan’s first green data-center transfer syndicated loan and a combined “special loan + project loan” model for Zhoukou Port.

• Climate & Operational Footprint – Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse-gas emissions declined to 24,736 tCO₂e (-4.7% YoY). – Electricity consumption decreased to 44,055.74 MWh (-3.7% YoY). – Non-hazardous waste generation rose to 845.84 tonnes; hazardous waste remained low at 1.39 tonnes, both fully treated by qualified recyclers.

• Awards & Recognition – Ranked 152nd in The Banker’s Global 1,000 Banks 2025; featured in Fortune China 500 at 305th; recognised by Forbes as one of the “World’s Best Banks”.

• Social Commitment – Training investment reached RMB 42.98 million, covering all 18,094 staff. – Public-welfare spending totalled RMB 1.63 million across 100 projects, with emphasis on rural revitalisation and financial literacy.

ZYBANK plans to deepen its “Four Pillar Banks” strategy, advance the “Five Key Financial Initiatives” and align with China’s dual-carbon goals during the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period starting 2026.
