Citi Revises August Gaming Revenue Forecast Downward to MOP 22.5 Billion

Citi has released a research report indicating that, based on the latest industry data, Macau's gaming revenue for the first 23 days of August is estimated to have reached approximately MOP 16.65 billion. The average daily gaming revenue over the past week was about MOP 714 million, slightly lower than the MOP 721 million recorded during the week of August 10th, yet roughly flat compared to the average daily revenue of MOP 715 million seen in the same period last year.

During this period, VIP betting volumes increased by approximately 9% to 13% month-on-month, while mass market gross gaming revenue grew by around 9% to 11% month-on-month. The VIP win rate was slightly higher than that of the week ending August 10th.

The firm anticipates that upcoming events, including concerts by i-dle, FNC Band Kingdom 2026, and Louis Koo at the Galaxy Arena, Londoner Arena, and Venetian Arena respectively, will further drive the recovery of gaming revenue. In a conservative move, Citi has lowered its August gaming revenue forecast from MOP 23 billion to MOP 22.5 billion, implying a year-on-year increase of approximately 2%. This adjustment suggests that the average daily gaming revenue for the remainder of the month will need to reach about MOP 726 million.
