China Taiping Insurance Holdings Company Limited (China Taiping) has appointed Ms. Chan Ching Har Eliza as an Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) with effect from 25 August 2026.\n\nThe appointment enlarges the Board to nine members, now comprising three executive directors, two non-executive directors and four INEDs. The current INED line-up is Ms. Chan Ching Har Eliza, Ms. Liu Yi, Mr. Shiu Sin Por and Mr. Cai Hongping.\n\nTenure and remuneration\n• Ms. Chan is not appointed for a fixed term. She will retire and be eligible for re-election at the 2027 annual general meeting and will thereafter be subject to rotation every three years in line with Articles 93 and 97 of the company’s Articles of Association.\n• She is not entitled to remuneration unless otherwise determined by the Board and its Nomination and Remuneration Committee.\n\nIndependence and compliance\n• Ms. Chan has confirmed her independence under Rule 3.13 of the Hong Kong Listing Rules.\n• She holds no shares in China Taiping, has no relationships with substantial or controlling shareholders, and reports no information requiring disclosure under Rule 13.51(2)(h)–(v).\n\nProfessional background\nAged 70, Ms. Chan serves on the Executive Council of the Government of the HKSAR and is a member of the 11th to 14th National Committees of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. She is currently a Senior Advisor to Deloitte China, Senior Consultant to Chan & Jamison LLP, Vice-Chairperson and INED of Bank of Communications (Hong Kong) Limited, and an INED of China Overseas Land & Investment Limited and Tong Ren Tang Technologies Co. Ltd.\n\nMs. Chan has been an INED of China Taiping Insurance Group Limited and its Hong Kong subsidiary since July 2022. Her prior public appointments include board memberships at the Hospital Authority and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, among others. A qualified solicitor in multiple jurisdictions, she holds an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Victoria, Canada, and is a Justice of the Peace and Gold Bauhinia Star awardee in Hong Kong.\n\nChina Taiping’s Board welcomed Ms. Chan’s appointment and acknowledged her extensive public and private sector experience as an asset to the Group.
