Since the beginning of this year, Yanhu Subdistrict in Xuzhou's Tongshan District has closely adhered to the fundamental mission of "uniting people and gathering strength." By incorporating united front work into the Party Working Committee's key agenda, the subdistrict has established a comprehensive united front framework characterized by unified Party committee leadership, coordinated efforts from united front departments, and collaborative engagement from all parties. This has paved the way for a new integrated approach combining Party building and united front work across grassroots governance, economic services, and improvements to people's livelihoods.
Organizational leadership has been strengthened to draw the largest "concentric circle." The subdistrict has prioritized ideological and political development alongside organizational system building as crucial pillars of its united front efforts. Through platforms such as cadre lecture halls and symposiums, it has guided united front members to enhance their political awareness, strengthen their confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and uphold the core position of the Party Central Committee. Leadership responsibilities have been clearly defined, establishing a working structure where the Party Working Committee Secretary takes overall responsibility, publicity and united front committee members oversee specific areas, and all departments coordinate their efforts. This detailed division of duties has extended united front work to the very grassroots of governance. Additionally, the United Front Office has partnered with the Justice Office to conduct legal awareness campaigns, inviting experts to deliver specialized lectures on legal knowledge for united front members in new economic and social organizations, thereby enhancing their ability to study, respect, and apply the law, and solidifying the ideological foundation of united front work.
Dedication to development has been demonstrated by activating the engine of the non-public economy. Yanhu Subdistrict has promoted deep integration of Party building with united front services, implementing a one-to-one liaison mechanism between united front members and enterprises. Through regular visits and the dissemination of policies aimed at benefiting and assisting businesses, the subdistrict has helped resolve development challenges, positioning Party organizations as the backbone of enterprise growth. Leveraging Party building leadership, the subdistrict guided local enterprise Jiangsu Huasheng Flour Co., Ltd. to establish a Party branch, leveraging the role of united front representatives in non-public enterprises. Party member core teams were formed to innovate production processes and implement intelligent assembly lines, helping to build "Huasheng Flour" into a nationally renowned brand. In response to changing market conditions, the subdistrict's Party Working Committee and united front departments conducted proactive research and assistance, facilitating the transformation of the struggling Yongminghui Door and Window Factory into Xinpeng Steel Structure Company. Simultaneously, the establishment of a Party branch was guided, fully leveraging the exemplary and pioneering role of Party members to lead employees in expanding markets and securing orders, enabling the enterprise to overcome difficulties and achieve sound development.
Resources have been coordinated and consolidated to play a harmonious symphony of revitalization. The subdistrict has fully leveraged the bridging and bonding role of the united front, deepening the "united front plus civilized practice" model. By coordinating resources and strengths from various sources, it has both gathered social resources to empower local development and linked various departments to deliver convenient services for the people, transforming united front advantages into tangible grassroots governance outcomes. Through the Educated Youth Association, the subdistrict mobilized former educated youth to give back to their "second hometown," guiding all sectors of society to contribute funds, information, and projects to support local development. The united front department has coordinated with multiple agencies, including the Party and Government Office, the People's Congress Office, the CPPCC Working Committee, the Party Building Office, the Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Construction Management Office, and the Social Governance Office, organizing united front members to widely participate in grassroots governance and civilized practice activities. Warm assistance services have been provided at the Home for the Disabled; during the summer care classes, the red scenario drama "Half a Quilt" was performed to cultivate patriotic sentiments among young people; and participation in New Year's Day and Lantern Festival cultural performances has brought attentive services to residents' doorsteps, effectively enhancing the public's sense of fulfillment and happiness. Looking ahead, Yanhu Subdistrict will continue to be guided by "Party building plus united front work," persistently innovating grassroots united front work platforms, strengthening the united front service team, and building a united front work brand centered on industrial upgrading, grassroots good governance, and livelihood improvement, thereby drawing the largest concentric circle.
