ZA ONLINE Reports H1 Total Premiums of RMB 16.558 Billion, Down 0.6% Year-on-Year

On August 25th, ZA ONLINE (HK: 06060) unveiled its interim results for the first half of 2026. During this period, the company achieved total premiums of RMB 16.558 billion, marking a slight year-on-year decrease of 0.6%, while insurance service revenue climbed 12.9% to RMB 16.989 billion.

According to the management of ZA ONLINE, adhering to a strategy of high-quality growth, the company's comprehensive cost ratio for the first half of 2026 stood at 95.5%, improving by 0.1 percentage point compared to the same period in 2025. This included a comprehensive loss ratio of 56.9% and a comprehensive expense ratio of 38.6%. Consequently, the company realized an underwriting profit of RMB 773 million in H1 2026, up 17.8% from the prior-year period.

Simultaneously, buoyed by a rally in the equity markets, the total investment return on insurance investment assets surged by 150.0% year-on-year to RMB 1.596 billion. This robust performance propelled the group's net profit attributable to parent shareholders up by 132.2% year-on-year, reaching RMB 1.550 billion for the first half of the year.

As of June 30, 2026, the group's total assets amounted to RMB 47.562 billion, and net assets reached RMB 26.939 billion, reflecting increases of 1.8% and 5.9%, respectively, compared to the end of last year. Additionally, the comprehensive solvency adequacy ratio was 287.7%, up 45.2 percentage points from the end of 2025, maintaining a comfortable buffer.

Furthermore, during H1 2026, ZA Bank recorded a net revenue of HK$5.578 billion, up 26.6% year-on-year, and achieved a net profit of HK$71 million for the half-year period, approximately 1.5 times that of the same period last year.
