Agricultural Bank of China Limited (ABC) has announced the successful completion of its issuance of the 2026 First Tranche of perpetual capital bonds under the Bond Connect scheme. The bank confirmed that the bonds, officially designated as the "Agricultural Bank of China Limited 2026 Perpetual Capital Bonds (First Tranche) (Bond Connect)", were fully subscribed and settled on the national interbank bond market.

The book-building process for these bonds took place on August 21, 2026, with the issuance finalized on August 25, 2026. The total issuance size reached RMB 20 billion, with a coupon rate of 1.88% for the initial five-year period. The coupon rate is subject to adjustment every five years thereafter. Additionally, the bank retains a conditional redemption right, which can be exercised on the fifth anniversary and on each subsequent coupon payment date.

Proceeds from this issuance, in line with applicable regulations and regulatory approvals, will be utilized to bolster the bank's Additional Tier 1 capital. This strategic move strengthens ABC's capital base, supporting its ongoing financial stability and capacity for future growth.
